*  We have money in hand for our two district grants, the dictionary project and dining room project at the Yarnell Regional Community Center.

From the Prez
I was asked one time, to talk about my “Rotary Moment”. This is the time when you realize all the work we do to fundraise, assemble grants, and do the work that fulfills the grant is all worth it.

We were at a school in Guatemala during a tour with Rotarians involved with the GLP
(Guatemala Literacy Project), the stage was filled with local dignitaries. A man had walked in from the fields, hoe in hand, and stood quietly in the background. Somebody noticed him and asked if he would like to talk to the group. He nodded his head and was led to the microphone.

In no more than 30 seconds, he expressed his thanks for the work the GLP had done in his
village. His children could now attend school and get an education that would allow them to lift themselves out of poverty. Powerful stuff.

What’s your Rotary moment?
